Lancaster Country Ride, 4/10/10

9 members of team IC3-I am Second made their way out to Lancaster, TX last Saturday for a BikeMS training ride in preparation for the upcoming BikeMS on May 1-2.
We had members along each of the 3 routes (approx 20, 40 and 63 miles) and all finished with smiles on their faces. For some it was the longest ride of the year as they work towards being able to complete the BikeMS distances.
As far as I heard, there were no mechanical issues, crashes or muscle issues other than general “soreness”.
All of us were sporting either an IC3 jersey or the new team jersey for the BikeMS event, featuring I am Second, Power 89.7 FM and Interstate Batteries.
This 63 mile route is a good one, with good old-fashioned Texas chip seal roads, a few smooth spots, some very challenging hills and a coupe of screaming descents. With only one exception, the course is well marked and marshaled. Email sent to the organizer on the exception. Great rest stops with friendly people.
I’m looking forward to this ride next year, as are many of our riders. Well done and kudos to Greater Dallas Bicyclists.
After....still smiling!
